ESC-Adaptor Quick Start Guide

Back to the Product Overview

Applicable firmware: main-v1.19

Compatible devices: servos, brushless ESCs accepting 50 Hz RC PWM signals, and devices using a control pulse width of 1.00–2.00 ms.

1. Setting interfaces

LabelNamePurposeHow to use
M1Power-on start configurationDelayed start after power-onShort with power disconnected; takes effect at next power-on
M2Switch activation configurationHold to run, release to stopShort with power disconnected; takes effect at next power-on
M3Bidirectional configurationEnable forward/reverse controlShort with power disconnected; takes effect at next power-on
IN1Extension inputSelect direction in bidirectional mode; also used to enter fixed-level fan modeConnecting to GND sets a low level
S1Start/settings switchStart, stop, power on/off, or configure parametersConnect the switch between S1 and GND; active low

“Short” means connecting the relevant contacts. “Open” means leaving them disconnected.

2. Configure a mode in three steps

  1. Disconnect power.
  2. Set M1 / M2 / M3 and connect IN1 / S1 according to the table below.
  3. Check power, GND, ADC-IN, and SIG-OUT wiring, then restore power.

M1 / M2 / M3 are read only at power-on. Cycle power after changing them.

4. Using each mode

Knob speed control

  • Leave M1 / M2 / M3 and IN1 open.
  • Operation starts by default at power-on. The knob sets the target output percentage.
  • The display normally shows the knob target; actual output follows the configured ramp.
  • Short press S1 to stop or resume.
  • After more than 5 seconds from power-on, long press S1 to set the ramp time.

Delayed start

  • Short M1; leave M2 / M3 open.
  • Output initially stays stopped and the display shows 00.
  • The default delay is 4 seconds, adjustable from 2 to 6 seconds.
  • After the delay, output and display ramp from 00 to the knob target.
  • Short press S1 to stop or resume.
  • After more than 5 seconds from power-on, long press S1 to set the delay.

Switch activation

  • Short M2; leave M1 / M3 open.
  • When S1 is not held, output stays stopped and the display shows 00.
  • Hold S1: output and display ramp up to the knob target.
  • Release S1: output and display ramp down to 00.
  • Short-press, double-click, and long-press settings functions are not available in this mode.

Bidirectional mode

  • Short M3.
  • IN1 high or open: forward.
  • IN1 connected to GND and held low: reverse.
  • Reverse is not latched. Returning IN1 high restores forward direction.
  • Direction changes ramp down to 00, switch direction, then ramp up to the knob target.
  • The LED is on in reverse and off in forward.
  • Short press S1 to stop or resume.
  • After more than 5 seconds from power-on, long press S1 to set the ramp time.

Fixed-level fan mode

  • Leave M1 / M2 / M3 open.
  • Connect IN1 to GND at power-on. This mode remains active until the next power cycle.
  • The device starts switched off, with the display off.
  • Long press S1 to switch on or off.
  • While on, short press S1 to cycle through 25 / 50 / 75 / 100%.
  • After switching on or changing level, the display shows the level for 5 seconds, then the measured voltage.
  • 120 means 12.0 V; 188 means 18.8 V.
  • Switching off immediately turns off the display. Short presses do not change levels while off.

This mode still outputs 50 Hz RC PWM. It is only suitable for devices accepting RC pulse-width control, not the high-frequency PWM input of ordinary four-wire fans.

5. Combined modes

M1 / M2 / M3 can be combined.

CombinationM1M2M3Behavior
Delay + switch activationShortShortOpenWait 4 seconds by default after power-on, then hold S1 to run and release to stop
Delay + bidirectionalShortOpenShortRun after the delay; IN1 controls direction; long press S1 to set the delay
Switch activation + bidirectionalOpenShortShortHold S1 to run; IN1 controls direction
Delay + switch activation + bidirectionalShortShortShortWait after power-on, then hold S1 to run; IN1 controls direction

Combination rules:

  • Shorting M1 enables the power-on delay with priority.
  • When M2 is shorted, S1 only provides hold-to-run/release-to-stop control. Parameter settings are unavailable.
  • Shorting M3 sets neutral to 1.50 ms. Direction follows the current IN1 level.
  • Do not combine fixed-level fan mode with M1 / M2 / M3.

6. Parameter settings

Ramp time

Available in knob speed control and bidirectional modes.

  1. Wait more than 5 seconds after power-on.
  2. Long press S1 to enter settings. The LED starts flashing.
  3. Short press S1 to cycle through 1–5 seconds.
  4. Long press again to save and exit. Settings are also saved automatically after 5 seconds of inactivity.

The default ramp time is 2 seconds.

Power-on delay

Available when M1 is shorted. If M2 is also shorted, settings cannot be entered using S1.

  1. Wait more than 5 seconds after power-on.
  2. Long press S1 to enter settings. The LED starts flashing.
  3. Short press S1 to cycle through 2–6 seconds.
  4. Long press again to save and exit. Settings are also saved automatically after 5 seconds of inactivity.

The default power-on delay is 4 seconds.

7. Display reference

DisplayMeaning
00Output is stopped
25–100Current level or output percentage
1–6Parameter value in seconds
120Voltage is 12.0 V
188Voltage is 18.8 V

8. Precautions

  • Disconnect power before changing M1 / M2 / M3; changes take effect at next power-on.
  • Set the knob to 0% before the first test and confirm that devices share a common ground.
  • The board only provides a control signal. Motors and high-power loads require a separate power supply.
  • Direction changes return to neutral before reversing. Do not bypass this safety sequence.
  • If the mode differs from expectations, disconnect power and check M1 / M2 / M3 and IN1.
