ESC-Adaptor for ESCs

ESC-Adaptor is a control adaptor for servos and brushless electronic speed controllers (ESCs). A knob and external switch provide smooth speed adjustment, delayed start, hold-to-run operation, forward/reverse control, and fixed output levels.

Applicable firmware: main-v1.19

Compatible devices: servos, brushless ESCs accepting 50 Hz RC PWM signals, and devices using a control pulse width of 1.00–2.00 ms.

Five operating modes

ModeTypical useOperation
Knob speed controlContinuous speed adjustmentThe knob sets the target output; the switch stops and resumes operation
Delayed startPrevent immediate operation at power-onOutput ramps up after the configured delay
Switch activationHold-to-run equipmentHold the switch to run; release it to stop
Bidirectional modeReversible ESCs or actuatorsIN1 selects direction in real time; output returns to neutral before reversing
Fixed output levelsRC PWM devices requiring four output levelsCycle through 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%

Output signal

The adaptor outputs 50 Hz RC PWM:

  • Unidirectional mode: 1.00–2.00 ms.
  • Bidirectional mode: 1.50 ms is neutral; the two directions extend to 1.00 ms and 2.00 ms.
  • Direction changes ramp down to neutral before reversing and ramping up again.
Signal compatibility

This product does not provide the high-frequency PWM signal used by ordinary four-wire fans. Confirm that your device accepts 50 Hz RC PWM before purchasing or wiring it.

Before use

  • Set the knob to 0% before the first test.
  • Connect the control board and the controlled device to a common ground.
  • This board only provides a control signal. Motors and high-power loads require a separate power supply.
  • Disconnect power before changing mode contacts. Changes take effect after power is restored.
